VTCT (ITEC) Level 5 Certificate in Advanced Blemish Removal

Course Dates*

  • Course Length: From 1st practical session date to final assessment date, theory is completed between.
  • In-Person Practical Sessions for 2024/2025 Group: 9th, 10th, and 11th September 2024 plus assessment dates which are 20th, 21st and 22nd January 2025.
  • In-Person Practical Sessions for 2025: 10th, 11th and 12th March 2025 plus 3 assessment dates on 16th, 17th and 18th June 2025.

The VTCT (ITEC) Level 5 Certificate in Advanced Blemish Removal is an advanced treatment qualification aimed at level 4 qualified practitioners aged 18 and over, who wish to add this therapy to their repertoire of treatment offerings.

You will be required to hold a VTCT Level 4 Advanced Epilation Techniques or Level 4 Skin Blemish Removal Qualification to progress onto the level 5 advanced blemish removal qualification. if who hold a level 3 beauty therapy qualification or equivalent you will be able to access the level 4 skin blemish removal qualification as a natural progression route.

This qualification is informed by employers and national occupational standards for beauty therapy and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a fully commercial advanced blemish removal practitioner. Full achievement of all mandatory units is required, which include:

  • Principles and practice of non-medical aesthetic therapies
  • Advanced consultation for non-medical aesthetic therapies
  • Advanced skin care for non-medical aesthetic therapies
  • Provide advanced blemish removal treatments

Throughout this qualification, you will develop knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety pertaining to level 5 non-medical aesthetic therapies. You will also develop the knowledge, understanding, and skills to consult with and analyse clients while providing advanced blemish removal treatments. In parallel, you will develop or refresh your communication and customer service skills to widen your knowledge of the principles and practices of level 5 non-medical aesthetic therapies, all of which are valued highly by employers.

  • What you will need to join the course?

    • Provide evidence you have a VTCT Level 4 Advanced Epilation Techniques qualification/Level 4 Skin Blemish Removal Qualification
    • Please note full attendance is essential to gain your certificate. Missing sessions may incur extra costs for catch-up training and assessments.
    • Any special needs should be highlighted prior to joining the course so we can ensure reasonable adjustments can be met.

  • Course Length

    Approximately 14 weeks from starting the theory/assignments progressing to case studies then formal assessments. 

  • Level 5 is a comprehensive, detailed and research based course, equivalent to an access degree, which involves many hours of study and will need considerable consideration prior to committing to this program. The formal assessments are set dates and will need planned study hours.

    Deborah Jones a highly skilled advanced practitioner is the tutor for this program, she provides an in depth study plan and guidance, with a high standard of theory and practical input. It is recommended that ONLY COMMITTED practitioners attend this advanced program.

Level 5 is a comprehensive, detailed and research based course, equivalent to an access degree over 14 weeks.

6 days at the training centre are

Day 1 – Practical input removal blemishes

Day 2 – Practical input removal blemishes

Day 3 – Practical input and clinical case studies

Day 4 -  Practical input and clinical case studies

Day 5 - Practical input and clinical case Studies (mock exam)

Models are provided, however, it is out of our control if the models cancel at the last minute, which may result in the start and finish time changes on the day.

Day 6 – Formal practical assessment

The 6 days are over a period of 14 weeks dates are provided at enrollment. they will be spit into 2x 3 days. All theory is completed online and guided learning maybe via zoom tuition.   Course work and 6 clinical case studies are to be completed before the formal practical assessment.

The formal written assessment will be at the training site.
