Milia Removal

What are Milia?

Milia are epidermal keratin cysts and may occur as a result of trauma to the skin. They appear as little hard white lumps, almost like pearly white lumps and range from 1 to 3mm in diameter.

They are more commonly found on the Cheeks, around the eyes, on the eyelids and even in the lashes.

What causes Milia?

They are thought to occur more commonly where there is an increased acidity (as a result of dry skin), or resulting from taking too much vitamin C (which also result increased acidity).

How can Milia be treated?

Milia is removed using an electrical current, normal only requiring one treatment!

It is advisable to speak to your practitioner about your skin care to ensure the lesion does not reoccur. Using the correct skin care product and looking at the types of food eaten can work wonders.
