Big smile! Thanks to Deborah Jones! No more plucking, freaking out about facial hair! The difference is tangible after 3 treatments for me and when the process is finished they won’t be coming back! Someone asked me why travel all that way to see Deb? Simple she’s an expert who is now a great friend who exactly understands how embarrassing facial hair is for us gals!

Kaz Long

When I started my course of treatments at Positive Pathways I was plagued by dark hairs that constantly appeared on my chin.

Although I could pluck these out, I knew in my heart of hearts this was not a lasting solution.

Plucking them, would cause me to have spots on my chin, which were agitated by me teasing the hair out to be able to get rid of them.

One morning at a business network meeting, Deborah from Positive Pathways was running the meeting, I knew that she did electrolysis and had spoken about the permanent solution, so I decided to be brave and ask Deborah if she could help!

Deborah was all smiles right from the start, now, some 9 months later, the spots have completely gone! In addition I only visit Deborah every 4 weeks, to keep the last stragglers at bay! No more hairs and an improvement in my skin as well.

Thank you Deborah~ so much!

Ever since I could remember my facial hair was my biggest insecurity.

Whenever I was talking to anyone I would be thinking “can they see it”?

Every time I looked in the mirror my focus would be solely on the dark shadow on my top lip; in fact I would avoid mirrors, trying to forget that I had hair on my face.

I tried plucking it, threading and used hair removal cream- such a very bad idea. Instead of actually getting rid of the hair on my face, it caused the hairs to become thicker, darker and rough- not forgetting the burn marks it left on my lip!

I finally had enough! I honestly felt I couldn’t keep living like this……..

I asked my mum if I could get laser. We knew nothing about laser, but luckily a friend recommended Positive Pathways.

I went along and met Deborah at Positive Pathways. I’ve been having the treatments a few months now.

Electrolysis is a long process and seemed expensive, but paying the fee is  freeing me from the insecurity!

Everyone at Positive Pathways is unbelievably nice, kind and caring, they actually put the client’s needs first.

Now whenever I need to talk about my facial hair I’m not self-conscious. How crazy that seems because I use to be so embarrassed.

Positive Pathways always makes me feel so comfortable, providing me with a life-changing treatment plus has helped me to form a relationship which allows me to trust and seek the help I need, without feeling so ashamed.

I have such praise for Positive Pathways; I just want to sing their praises and I would recommend them to anyone who is interested in a permanent solution to unwanted facial hair

Trust Positive Pathways ~ you won’t regret it!

Positive difference from Positive Pathways

I am not used to wearing make-up and I don’t like the way foundation makes my skin feels. To add insult to injury I have sensitive skin which is prone to allergies. So I approached the idea of a makeover from Positive Pathways with a feeling of nervousness.

A natural look that smooths out some of the things the camera doesn’t like – or as my boyfriend said – just like photoshop but it works in real life.

Thanks to all at Positive Pathways for a great job – will be back soon.

What a great job done by Deborah. I can now see properly out of my right eye now that she has removed the bits of hanging skin. Thanks, Deb.

Positive Pathways Beauty have changed my life!

Since starting my elelctrolysis treatments about four months ago, I’m noticing a significant decrease in the hair growth around my chin area.

I used to wax my chin twice a week, now I don’t wax at all!

I now have my treatments every two weeks, even my treatment time has reduced……….

The hair growth is finer and less noticable, my skin is looking clearer too!

Deborah and Naomi are so helpful and very discrete, making every effort to work around my schedule to ensure my treatments are provided to suit my needs.

Thank you

Hi Deborah

Just wanted to say in writing thank you for helping me to look and feel great, the sessions I have had to date have really helped, your kind words, support and positive suggestions have made me feel great xx

John Cheeseman

I had  two skin tags removed that were troubling to me. Both area’s have healed really quickly and I can’t see any trace left on my face. I will be passing your contact detail on to a friend of mine.

Thank you.

Both Naomi and Deborah are lovely!!! I always come out feeling so much better about myself!! I’ve been going to Positive Pathways for a good few years now and especially love their salon on Hadlow Road. Unlike many places, Positive Pathways are friendly and so accommodating! I am not sure how they remain so patient with my million appointment changes. Can’t wait for my next visit. I’m in desperate need of their dermatologica facial!! A must have!!

I used to love visiting Nan but hated kissing her goodbye she had a prickly chin like my dad.

My sister and I called her Granny Whiskers!!

She had a Bic razor in a dish by the door if an unexpected visitor turned up, she would dry-shave her chin!

In my mid-twenties, I noticed the odd white hair on my chin, I would pluck it out – no problem!

By the time I reached my thirties I was in front of the mirror every other day.  Spending hours plucking them out!

The skin on my chin was spotty, swollen & infected due to relentless picking, plucking and exfoliating.

I wouldn’t have a facial, too embarrassed by somebody feeling my chin and learning my dirty secret.  Even my partner wasn’t aware of my problem.  I told him the spots were hormonal acne!  I have never even discussed this with my close friends – I still don’t!

This sounds really stupid, but one day I thought what if I went into a coma or got really ill and couldn’t pluck or wax?!  I had nightmares of waking up with a full on Desperate Dan beard – I had a pact with my sister that if one of us fell ill the other one would make sure they were there with the tweezers!
I did so much research on hair removal – IPL, Vaniqa, No-No Hair, etc.  I knew about electrolysis but I shied away from it as I knew it was a big commitment.

How on earth could I commit to not plucking or treating the area in between sessions?  But then I came across Debs whilst on a google search ….
She knows everything there is to know about facial hair, how it grows, what cycle it is in (anagen, catagen!) but, more importantly, she knows how to get rid of it and she is passionate about what she does!

I see her every other week for 30 minutes.  I cut any hair that I think others can see in between sessions (although unless people are walking around with magnified contact lenses, they probably don’t even notice!).

Sometimes I go two weeks. Debs has been known to come in out of hours to assist if I need her to.

I have been going several months now, already the skin on my chin is healing. I spend almost no time in front of the mirror (although I do allow myself a treat every now and then … just to look!).
Electrolysis is not pleasant but it is totally bearable!  The biggest commitment is not touching the hair in between sessions.

Every time I pluck I’m right back to the beginning!  I strangely enjoy the sessions, more so because we spend 30 minutes laughing and joking.
I now know how common FACIAL HAIR is, probably 2 or 3 of my own friends may even suffer with it and I just don’t know because we don’t  talk about it!

I wish I hadn’t left it so long!

Deborah has completely changed my life; I know that sounds a bit dramatic, but it is truly how I feel. For years I felt ashamed, embarrassed and self conscious about the huge warts on my hands. I tried many treatments from the chemist, the doctor even froze them, but they kept coming back and getting bigger. Now completely gone!

I just wanted to let everyone know what a lovely experience I had when I went to Positive Pathways Beauty Salon. I was looked after by a therapist called Deborah.

I’d had a very large skin tag on my shoulder. I couldn’t wear anything that didn’t cover it, I hated it, it was so ugly.

I was sitting in my car outside the salon one afternoon and couldn’t take my eyes off the writing on the window that said skin tag removal. I was with my daughter, we made a note of the phone number. My daughter had a skin tag that she was very conscious of as well.

After a phone call and an appointment my daughter had hers removed in just 15mins. Mine was a lot bigger and took an hour, only a little discomfort but not really painful and it was gone, still cant believe its gone.

Deborah talks you through what she is doing. What a lovely lady! I was so pleased with the results so I made another appointment and had another small one removed from my face.

I am so pleased – thank you Deborah & Positive Pathways Beauty

Claire from Welling

Since the age of about 15-16yrs I first began to notice that I had slightly more hair growth on the face/chin area than my friends and two sisters. It was nothing major just a few here and there which were not noticeable to the naked eye but, I knew they were there.

Embarrassed by it I never seeked any medical advice and thought it must be down to my age & growing up and was sure it would go eventually. Around the time when starting my A-levels I became much more conscious of my unwanted hair and began dealing with it by using hair removal creams, plucking at it with tweezers (a task which could take 20-30mins a day). When I was short of time I would use a razor, I now realise I made my problem a whole lot worse.

This cycle continued for about a further 3 years and it was only when consulting my doctor about contraceptives that I mentioned this to her (something I had never spoken about to anyone other than my family). I then began a series of hospital visits to specialists, blood and hormonal tests, scans for Polycystic Ovaries (for which additional hair growth can be a symptom) I began medication.

For about 3 years I continued to use the contraceptive pill along with other medication which did improve my condition – but I still had to deal with my problem on a daily basis, it was really getting me down. A 25year old young girl, I should have been enjoying life.

Talking to my GP I decided to seek other options available that would be a more permanent solution and began EPILIGHT laser treatment at a local beauty salon. I had Laser treatment for just over 2 years every 8-10 weeks, and although not using creams or plucking with tweezers, I was allowed to shave in between treatments, now looking back this could be why the stubborn darker hairs were still not going.

It was only when moving house that I looked into finding a new salon where I could continue Laser treatment, that on the internet I found details on Electrolysis (the only permanent method) – Positive Pathways.

Deborah of Positive Pathways, my therapist was very sympathetic and understanding of my problem and explained to me all about Electrolysis and how it would work for me and we started my first treatment later that week. We worked out an action plan. The first few weeks I was having 1hr treatment every 3 days (twice a week). In between appointments I had to commit to not treating the area at all – something which I thought would have been my worst nightmare – but surprisingly I dealt with it, it was nothing that a good concealer wouldn’t cover up. By the 3rd week (6th treatment) most hairs had been treated I was beginning to see real improvements

Four years since starting my treatment I have a 20 minute treatment once every 3 months, this treatment is really to remove fine hairs, they were the strongest hairs at the beginning.

I find it very hard to believe I ever had a hair problem!

My confidence is back , I no longer talk to people with my hand covering my face, a habit I ‘ve had for years. I just wish I had started Electrolysis years ago, now aged 34.

Thank you Deborah
